Bargain with the Bear by Annalise Nixon

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Alexander & Sherry. We meet Alexander briefly in Between a Wolf and a Hard Place he is Barron's brother and was asked to find his mate's best friend. Iris would never settle without knowing what had happened to both her best friend and her younger sister. So Alex agrees to see what he can find. What Alex never expected to find was a woman who could see the real him, not just the parts he put out to the world but the real man deep inside. Can he keep her though when she finds out what he's been hiding from her all this time?

Sherry is scared when she is taken but is unwilling to allow her captured to know this. She thinks if she is brave enough then she will find a way out of it. When she is put on the auction block though she is sure all hope is lost except she finds a single ray of hope in Alex. She doesn't know why she is so drawn to him or why he makes her feel so safe but she knows with him nothing bad can happen. Or at least that is what she thinks will happen. What happens though when Alex learns her secrets will he keep her or will he use her like others before him have wanted to do?

This story has some of the same characters in this book that are in Between a Rock and a Hard Place. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would advise reading the other book first just for a bit of backstory and to understand a few of the references in this book. I like the dynamic of the female lead in this book as well as the first book. They may be willing to submit to their men but they won't be doormats for them. They have their own strength that will help them to get through some of the tough times. This is a book that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I would highly recommend it.
