Review of Pushing the Limits by Brooke Cumberland

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Aspen Evans and Morgan Hampton. Aspen is recovering from a very traumatic death of her twin sister Ariel. It has been years since she has left home but with everything that went on there she has had no contact with family. She also has not let anyone in more than surface level. Even her closest friends no very little about her or her life before she came to California School of Liberal Arts. Aspen's dream is to be a museum curator. So she is currently working on her double major and just hooking up and leaving guys by the next morning. With relationships come questions, questions bring up feelings, feelings cause panic attacks, that shuts her down, so no relationships so just like everyone else in her life they are superficial. That is until she meets Professor Hampton. There is something about him from that first meeting that makes her want more, part of her is scared with these feelings and part of her really does want more. However she knows if they get together it will cause problems for them both.

Morgan has been shut down for the last 5 years ever since he found his fiance and his brother in bed together. Now he is back though not for him, but for his brother's child. His brother was a police officer that was killed one night while off-duty trying to stop a robbery in progress. Natalia brings joy in his life as well as a source of purpose he hasn't had in awhile. So when he take the position at CSLA he finds passion that he hasn't had for art as well as people. As he is going over the portfolio's of his students he finds one with such passion and depth he can't seem to stop himself from going back to it time and again. He may not know this student yet but he is determined to meet this fabulous artist. The thing is when he first meets her sparks fly like he has never felt before and if he isn't careful he will find more trouble than he wants with this woman.

In this book we find two people who have been hurt so badly that the scars run deep. So the question comes up can these people find love after the painful past they have endured? Or are they destined to be alone for the rest of their lives? Also can they together help heal a little girl who has scars just like these adults? this book is amazing you will be hooked from the first word to the very end. This is one of those books you want to lock out the world to read this book.
