Review of Slammer by Tabitha Vargo

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book is a stand alone and wow is it amazing.

In this book we meet Christopher and Lyla. Christopher or X as he is called in prison has been for the last 10 years after killing his girlfriend Sarah and her friend Michael. Christopher pleaded guilty to the murder even with having no memory of the incident to help with the guilt he felt over loosing a woman he loved so much. As time goes on to survive in Fulton Rhodes Penitentiary Christopher had to die and someone stronger called X came to be. X makes no attachments and fights to survive in prison he figures this is his real punishment is to have no attachments and to fight almost everyday for the rest of his life. This is all X looks for day after day until one day day after being injured he sees the new nurse in the infirmary. Though he is very attracted to her he knows she is to green to be there and is sure that they will harm her or do other unthinkable things to her he is sure he has to get her to quit.

Lyla takes one look at X on her first day of work and her world just stops. She isn't sure what it is about that man but he makes her heart skip and beat and her body flush with want. She knows nothing can happen between the two of them but when X rescues her one night from a rival prisoner she knows there is more than meets the eye with this prisoner. The more she talks to X the more she is sure that there is a chance that he might just be innocent of the crimes he is accused of.

There are many more things that happen in this story that I really want to tell you about but as a reader I like to experience things for myself. This book is amazing and will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it.
